Patients who have Post Polio paralysis (PPP) may, after many years of stable neurological
impairment, undergo a progressive functional deterioration. A high frequency of
additional disorders, such as orthopedic and neurological problems, may occur in patients
after long paralysis. Along with other impairments, knee deformities are the major issues
to deal with in PPP. The residents of district South Waziristan of Khyber Pukhtunkhwa
(Ex-FATA) region of Pakistan are ethnically, culturally and linguistically distinct from
the rest of the country.
